Day 0 |
Optional Airport Transfer and BriefingIf you've chosen airport transfers, we'll pick you up from either Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha airport and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. At your Moshi hotel, there will be a pre-trek briefing. We recommend arriving at least one day before the trek starts to attend this session. We'll also review and provide any necessary equipment. Day 1 |
Hotel to Mti Mkubwa CampAfter breakfast and briefing, we'll drive to Londorossi Park Gate, about a 3-hour drive. From there, a forest track accessible by a 4WD vehicle leads to Lemosho Glades. The trek then continues along forest trails to Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite.

Day 2 |
Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 2 CampFollowing breakfast, we'll continue the trek as the trail gradually steepens and enters the giant heather moorland zone. Crossing several streams, we ascend over the Shira Ridge past Shira 1 camp and onto Shira 2 camp located on moorland meadows near a stream.

Day 3 |
Shira 2 Camp to Barranco CampToday, we continue towards the east up a ridge from Shira Plateau, passing the junction towards Kibo peak. Afterward, our direction shifts to the South East towards the Lava Tower, known as the “Shark’s Tooth” (elev 4650m/15,250ft). Following the tower, we descend to Barranco Camp, crucial for acclimatization.

Day 4 |
Barranco Camp to Karanga CampAfter breakfast, we ascend a steep ridge up the Barranco Wall to Karanga Valley and the junction connecting with the Mweka Trail.

Day 5 |
Karanga Camp to Barafu CampWe continue the trek up to Barafu Camp, completing the South Circuit with varied views of the summit. Here we rest, dine, and prepare for the summit day.

Day 6 |
Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka CampEarly morning, we ascend towards the summit between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. This challenging trek culminates at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After enjoying the summit, we descend to Mweka Camp.

Day 7 |
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to HotelAfter breakfast, we descend to Mweka Park Gate to receive summit certificates. The descent may be wet and muddy at lower elevations. We'll provide transportation back to your hotel in Moshi.
